THE KARNATAKA EXAMINATION AUTHORITY CONDUCTS the K-CET exam or Karnataka standard entrance test every year to grant admission in various courses in Karnataka. Ensure that the students studied in Karnataka or Kannad medium from class 1st to 10th are eligible for admission through K-CET.

The K-CET exam is held on two days in 4 sessions for four subjects, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics. For Engineering students Physics, Chemistry and Maths are the essential subjects.
The Merit list of engineering students have two important components
- First is the CET score in Physics, Chemistry, and Maths
- The second component is your score in Board exams of the same subjects.
Please note that the score of these two components, i.e., the CET score and 12th board score carry equal weightage. Therefore, as essential to score good marks in CET, scoring well on your 12th board is also necessary. Also, the Karnataka Board keeps on changing the weightage of scores every year.
Conditions or Eligibility criteria for the exam
The eligibility criteria are based on the course you select.
- Only aspirants of Indian nationality are eligible for admission for government seats.
- Students should be from a science background.
- The minimum marks required class 12th to apply for B-Tech through K-CET have been relaxed. Candidates who have passed class 12 or PUC are now eligible to apply for KCET 2022.
- The minimum age to apply for the KCET exam is 17 years.
- Should have successfully passed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Maths, as compulsory subjects and any one of the following as an additional subject. (Biotechnology, Chemistry, Electronics, computer)

Syllabus
The KCET 2022 has been released, which was set up by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) for candidates preparing for the examination.
