Management plays a very important role in any organization, big or small, national or multinational, and so on. If the management team is not competent, the company could go into loss in no time. Similarly, management has a key role in an advertising and marketing agency as well. These are the people who call the shots and make sure that things are done on time. If they are not apt in their job, everyone suffers the consequences.

In a creative advertising agency, there are multiple teams working on various projects at the same time which means there needs to be a proper managerial set up to cater to all of this. If things are not running smoothly in any workplace, it causes a lot of problems for the employees and the upper management as well.


The role of effective communication in a team

One most important parts of ensuring good management are effective communication. If the managers are communicating effectively with one another and also with the team members, it smoothens things out for everyone and day-to-day tasks become easier to accomplish. But if this communication is not done properly, it can create issues within the team and they can also escalate into bigger problems.


Promote a healthy environment through open discussions

Communication also opens room for healthy discussions and effective brainstorming. Healthy discussions bring out the best ideas and help the team move forward. A good manager always promotes a healthy environment.


Importance of active and efficient communication amongst the managers

Managers need to actively communicate amongst each other as well. This lets them identify problems well in advance and thus gives them ample time to come up with a viable solution to that problem. And if they do not engage in effective communication, any small inconvenience or issue at work could become a bigger problem and one that costs the team a lot as a whole.


Avoid conflict through communication

When managers keep their communication channels open, employees feel like they can share any problem with them and ask for their advice on any matter. This promotes a healthy and inclusive environment at the workplace and everyone feels relaxed and comfortable and as a result of this, everyone performs better.

If any team member has an issue, it must be handled at the initial stages and not when things start to go out of hand because that could affect the assigned work and eventually cause a lag in the overall progress of any given project. So, this must be avoided at all costs and it can be done through open communication channels between the management and the employees or team members.


Present a united front to the world

There are many ad agencies in Lahore that work very hard to support their clients as do we. But this hard work goes in vain if the management team is not competent. If the managers have personal or professional clashes or quarrels, it affects the whole company and the business it brings to the table. Difference of opinion is good behind the doors but once you are out to lock clients, you must present a united front.


Importance of setting goals and targets

The most important part of any manager in any team is to set goals and targets. If they do not define clear goals and targets and fail to communicate them properly to the team members that are working on a project. It causes delays in the actual work that needs to be done in order to meet those deadlines. So, make sure to set proper, well-defined roles for the team members. Also, ensure that they understand what is required of them. Once your team members are clear. What is it that they need to do in order to complete the assigned tasks within the stipulated time? The whole process becomes smoother and faster for everyone.

Lastly, in an advertising and marketing agency, it is important to have a healthy environment for the employees and also a healthy relationship amongst the team members and the management, one of trust and communication. This can be achieved through various team-building exercises and it definitely improves the performance of the team as a whole.
