Huawei P9 Vs Galaxy S7: Complete Comparison and Differences

The Huawei P9 is a smartphone with respectable but unspectacular specifications, a beautiful build, and a long list of promises to keep. The Huawei smartphone involves some exciting new features and hardware upgrades, especially the Leica's camera collaboration. Huawei and Leica have recently partnered to enhance your mobile photography experience.

Samsung Galaxy S7 features a Quad HD Super AMOLED display, an octa-core Exynos processor, a 12 MP dual sensor, and a TouchWiz UI that has been refined. Galaxy S7 is one of the stunning and best-looking smartphones from the Samsung brand, turning it into one of the smartest phones to buy.

Perhaps you're in the market for a new phone and are considering both of these options. But you are not able to decide which one will be the best fit for you. You may have a question in mind “Huawei P9 Vs Galaxy S7: Which one is better? What’s the difference between them?

Don't worry, we're here to assist you. We are going to compare both these phones and will look at the features both devices have and are differences between them.

Huawei P9 Vs Galaxy S7: Design

The Huawei P9 features single-piece metal construction with a sleek design. The P9 weighs 144 grams and has measurements of 145 x 70.9 x 6.95mm. A fingerprint sensor is located in the center at the top of the back, while dual camera sensors and Leica branding are located inside the top antenna strip.

The main difference between the Huawei P9 and the Huawei P8 is the use of 2.5D glass on both the front and back of the phone. We also note something on the rear panel that the P8 completely lacks: a fingerprint scanner with slightly rounded corners. Overall, small details like this contribute to the P8's appealing structure.

The Samsung Galaxy S7's metal and glass body measures 142.4 x 69.6 x 7 inches and it weighs 152g. It's a bit smaller than the Huawei P9, but it's a little thicker and heavier. Except for the backsides, which are now curved and look very similar to the Galaxy Note 5, the Galaxy S7 has a very similar design to its predecessor. The camera module has also shrunk in size,  it also has a bigger battery and a microSD card slot.

It, however, also has a fingerprint scanner, but it's located on the device's front. It comes in a variety of colors, including white, gold, black, and silver, and has an IP68 waterproof rating.

Display

The Huawei P9 has a similar 5.2-inch Full HD display panel as we see in Huawei P8, with a pixel density of 423 pixels per inch. It also uses the same IPS NEO-LCD technology as the previous model. The only distinction is the presence of 2.5D glass, as stated earlier. The screen looked very solid in early tests, with excellent lighting and viewing angles.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 has an AMOLED display, but its screen is smaller than the Huawei P9. It also has a Quad HD resolution with a 577ppi pixel density, which should result in images that are clearer and sharper than the P9. AMOLED displays have more vibrant colors than LCD displays, but they may also be more insane. The Galaxy S7's screen quality is unquestionably as good as you'd anticipate from a $700 smartphone, and AMOLED fans will definitely be pleased with that.

Huawei P9 Vs Samsung Galaxy S7: Camera

Huawei has put a lot of emphasis on the camera system of the P9 smartphone. The latest flagship sport dual rear cameras and a Leica alliance. Two 12-megapixel cameras, one RGB and the other monochrome are on board, with beam AF for short-range and accurate depth aiming for large distances.

Both devices have a designated depth image signal processor, and users will have complete manual command, alongside Leica shutter sound and standard, vibrant, and smooth film modes. The front camera of the Huawei P9 has an 8-megapixel resolution.

On the other side, a 12 MP rear camera with a big f/1.7 aperture is included in the Samsung Galaxy S7. Some models have a Sony sensor, while others have Samsung's own made sensors, reviving the debate about using two camera sensors in the same line. In any case, it's obvious that the S7 takes incredible pictures. It also has dual-pixel technology for faster auto-focusing, as well as a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with an f/1.7 aperture.

Performance

Under the hood of the Huawei P9 is the Kirin 955 processor, an octa-core chip that Huawei says is 100% quicker than the P8 model, and 3D graphics have improved by 125 percent. The Huawei P9 is the first smartphone to use Huawei's new Kirin 955 processor, which is developed by Huawei itself and is designed to compete with the Exynos 8890 and Snapdragon 820. Huawei promises exceptional results and a major upgrade over the Kirin 950 found in the Mate 8.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 is available in two versions: one with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and the other with an Exynos 8 Octa chipset. Both have 4GB of RAM for a better gaming environment, and storage options of 32GB and 64GB are available, with microSD support for extra storage capacity. The Galaxy S7 contains a 3000mAh battery and is charged via Micro-USB.

Battery

With the Huawei P9, we get a bigger battery, up from 2,680 mAh in the P8 to 3,000 mAh in the P9. This, combined with the fact that the display size and resolution remain unchanged, ensures that the phone will always last a full day on a single charge. If required, you can use the fast charge feature to get up to 5 hours of talk time with just 10 minutes of charging.

The Huawei P9 has a USB Type C reversible connector, but it still adheres to the USB 2.0 specification.  The Huawei P9 will scale from 0% to 44% in 30 minutes, as Huawei claims. During our research, we discovered that the P9's battery can survive a full day with moderate use. Heavy users, on the other hand, would need to charge it by the end of the day.

The Galaxy S7 also features a 3,000mAh battery, but the Exynos 8890 would have to be far more power-efficient than the Kirin 955 due to the higher resolution screen. The S7's AMOLED display, which is built to use less power than an IPS display, could also help it compete.

There is no USB Type C port on this device. Instead, you'll find a standard micro USB socket. It does, however, come with quick charge 2.0, which allows you to charge the phone from 0% to 60% in just 30 minutes, significantly faster than the P9. Wireless charging via Qi/PMA is also available.

Huawei P9 Vs Galaxy S7: Final Words

We have seen the difference between Huawei P9 Vs Galaxy S7. There's no denying that we have compared the two amazing devices. The Galaxy S7 wants to keep the throne, while Huawei wants to catch up with the Korean kingpin by selling a competitive smartphone at a lower price $600 vs. $650 for the S7.

Huawei P9 demonstrates that the company is capable of competing with its most effective rivals. The collaboration with Leica would greatly boost the company's ability to market its device. In terms of actual real-world efficiency, the P9 has a fantastic camera that produces excellent images. The P9 is also supported by its outstanding architecture and great build.

The Galaxy S7 is one of Samsung's best phones, and if it comes at a reasonable price, it should be in high demand. In the end, it all comes down to the customer's personal preference.
