The Maharashtra government on Sunday announced a slew of unlike restrictions, including a weekend lockdown and a night curfew in the state, between an abnormal surge in coronavirus cases.

Night curfew will be expected in the state from 8 pm to 7 am from Monday. The state will go for a whole weekend lockdown from 8 pm on Friday to 7 am on Monday. NCP minister Nawab Malik said prohibitory orders published under Section 144 will be in force during the day. The new set of rigorous guidelines will become into effect from 8 pm on Monday and are expected to be in place till April 30. The confinements will be called ‘Break the Chain’ instead of ‘Mission Begin Again’.

Here's all we need to know about the new Covid-19 rules in Maharashtra:

• Industries and production sector, vegetable market will perform with Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs) and production sites will explore if there is an aid facility for workers.
  
• Restaurants and bar seating will not be sanctioned and only takeaways will be allowed.
  
• Private offices, banking and insurance sectors, will be remain shut.
  
• Government offices will function at 50 percent of their dimension and the rest of the employees will work from home, except the staffers of the demanded services correlated to the pandemic management.
  
• Visitors will only be admitted to enter government offices if they have exerted vaccination. While 50 people will granted at weddings, only 20 people can attend obsequies.
  
• Cinemas, drama performances will be shut, while film and television shootings will continue if there is no crowding.
  
• E-commerce services will continue doing and housing societies with five or more Covid-19 cases will be held containment zones.
  
• Political rallies have also been banned. Gardens, playgrounds, beaches will be remain shut between 8 pm to 7 am. Salons, beauty parlours, swimming pools, sports complexes and water parks will remain completely shut.
  
• Stadium and indoor sports will be shut while the industrial sector, including oxygen-dependent industries, will have to reduce services to divert oxygen towards hospitals.
  
• People who work for essential services will only be permitted to travel at night. Agriculture and agricultural activities, shipping of food grains and farm commodities will continue as usual.
  
• Roadside eateries can treat between 7 am to 8 am. Public shipping will remain working with limitations, and auto rickshaws and cabs will operate with a limited number of customers.
  
• The Covid-19 position in Maharashtra reaches to be worrisome with the state listing 57,074 new cases on Sunday. This is the most crucial single-day spike in the state ever since the coronavirus pandemic started last year.
