The USS Kidd Veterans Memorial complex also comprises an observation tower and museum.

It was originally established near Alexandria in 1860, and after nine years, in 1869, it was moved to Baton Rouge. The university was moved to its current location in the year 1926.The prominent highlights of the university are the LSU Rural Life Museum and the LSU Museum of Natural Science. The LSU campus also comprises popular athletic venues, i.e., Alex Box Stadium/Skip Bertman Field for baseball and LSU Tiger Stadium for football.
