Go through these 4 hacks that can level up your laundry. We promise they will save from some last-minute hassle and some common mistakes that occur on a laundry day. You might have heard a lot of laundry hacks till now, but not all of them give results. The reason is they’re not based on science. So, we have accumulated the below-mentioned hacks based on the science of fabric care.
Use baking soda
Start buying baking soda for your laundry room. While you may not know it can actually help a lot in deodorizing. It also enhances the performance of laundry products. Here are the other things baking soda can do:
- Baking soda can be used in the rinse cycle as a replacement for fabric softeners.
- It can revive your whites by boosting the power of oxy bleach and chlorine. Just add one cup of baking soda to water, and use it along with bleach for best results.
- If there is gunk on the bottom of your iron it might ruin your clothes. You can use baking soda to clean the gunk without any scratches on the iron.
Remove wrinkles with ice
We iron clothes to remove wrinkles after wash. But what about the days when you don’t feel like ironing? You can simply toss a handful of ice cubes into the dryer of your washing machine and put the wrinkled cloth inside. Now, tumble for 10-12 minutes on high heat. When the ice will melt it will release steam that relaxes the fibres and wipes away wrinkles.
Hang the garment right after putting it out from the dryer. Press the collar, seams or cuffs with your hands and you’ll have a wrinkle-free garment without ironing.
You can also send your washed clothes to Laundromats for steam ironing. Professionals do steam ironing with perfection and they can definitely help you in having a polished look.
Save the socks and other small items
Keeping a pair of socks together is literally a task. Always put your socks inside a mesh laundry bag before putting them in the washer. This way you will never have a single sock with its missing pair. You can also use this hack on small clothing items like handkerchiefs, baby clothes, gloves etc. Simply put them in a mesh bag, toss the bag in the washer and then put it in the dryer.
Go eco-friendly
Ever thought you can do your bit towards the environment by changing your laundry habit? To make a difference and reduce your carbon footprint, use front-loading washing machine instead of using a top-loader as the former requires 50 per cent less water.
Next, refrain from washing your individual clothes separately. Replace your regular detergent with a bio-based detergent.
If you often send your clothes for laundry service then make sure you choose a trusted Laundromat that uses eco-friendly chemicals to clean and wash clothes.
We are pretty sure that these hacks will save your time and money. They will save you from laundry mishaps and help you in making your clothes better than before.???????
