Judo training comes with the technique of falling to the ground safely. Fighting is always done in the ground with throws, locks, and grappling, and falling right is very important to prevent injury.

On the other hand, Karate is a striking Martial Art and is not fought on the floor, so that falling could be a disadvantage.

Face Protection

Judo rules do not allow hitting on the opponent's face, while Karate teaches to hit the head at every possible opportunity. So, judo discipline will make you vulnerable, while in Karate, you have to keep your face protected as a normal defensive stance.
