There are people who accidentally download something from the internet, when they open their internet browser after that the complete setup will be changed. Has it happened to you? Many people unknowingly download the ask toolbar in their device.
Some people think that this is just a toolbar and ignore it. The more a person ignores it, the more will be the problem because it occupies more space, and also it is a tool of hackers. It is not just a virus, Ask toolbar malware is currently on your device. Know that first and take action to remove that as quickly as possible.
This also gets into the device through other applications but it mostly comes through Java and causes more problems to the device. So when you identify it is in your device, the first step you have to do is Remove Ask.com.
Step 1: Click on the three dots that are the chrome menu button. Then from the options click on the more tools and again from more options click on the extensions.
Step 2: Then click on the extension tab. (There will be three lines, in its side extension will be written; you have to click on that).
Step 3: Now everything that you have downloaded will be displayed on the screen. Come straight towards the ask toolbar, then click on the Remove option.
Step 4: After finishing all this, again you will have to click on the Chrome menu button.
Step 5: From the various options click on the settings.
Step 6: Now on this page, under the search engine, you will be able to find ‘manage search engine’.
Step 7: In this step, you have to make google search as the default in your google chrome. Click on google and tap make default and select Google.
Step 8: Then in the search box, type ask.com; if any appears you have to click on the ‘x’ to delete it.
Sometimes, the above method will not work for a few; so if it doesn’t work for you, do the method given below:
Step 1: So while you are doing the previous method at the third step while you try to remove it, if you get an error message saying that ‘this extension is managed and cannot be removed. If you see this message you will have to close the chrome completely.
Step 2: After closing the chrome, go to the empty part of the taskbar and right-click on it. The taskbar will be at the lowermost part of your desktop.
Step 3: Now from the options, select the task manager.
Step 4: The windows task manager box will open, from the various tab click on the processes tab; check whether the chrome.exe*32 is still working or not. If it is still working, select it.
Step 5: After selecting click on the end process. After completing all these steps, go to start and click on the control panel.
Step 6: This may slightly vary from one device to another. Select program and features then click on uninstall a program or add or remove the program or anything similar to this.
Step 7: Now from the various installed programs, you will have to search on ask.com and uninstall the ask toolbar and the updater.
Step 8: After completing all these steps, do not forget to restart your device. Once the device is restarted, go to disk cleanup then select your hard drive (C will be more convenient).
Step 9: To clean it completely click ok. Once it is cleaned up, click on the Chrome menu and tap settings and again click advanced settings and then on the content settings, then delete all cookies and site data.
Using these methods you can easily Remove the ask toolbar from the browser.
