Dubai: When to Go, How to Move and What to See

If you are one of those who have already returned from vacation or are thinking about where you want to go on your next trip, today I want to propose a destination that will not leave you indifferent: Are we going to Dubai ?. Read on if you want to know when to go, how to get around and what to see in this luxury destination.

Can you imagine a car bathed in gold, driving with a cheetah as copilot or a Lamborghini Diablo disguised as a police car? These things can only be seen in Dubai ... A different place, with its mega-buildings and, where we can see to what extent the extravagance of the sheikh-like billionaires who inhabit it can reach: a whole exercise of ostentation in the form of a city .

  1. When to go

The best times to visit Dubai are spring and autumn, between the months of November and April. In summer the heat is suffocating, sometimes reaching 50 degrees due to the humidity. We decided to spend the last Christmas there, with a perfect temperature (between 20 and 25 degrees) and when Dubai becomes a luxury tourist destination, every day more requests are made by travelers from all over the world to escape the cold.

Dubai is to the Middle East what Hong Kong is to Asia: a dynamic city, bustling with activity and with environments for all tastes… From beautiful Gulf beaches with warm waters for practicing water sports, to taking a trip to the desert on camels; visit a Bedouin camp in an oasis, play golf or enjoy the night, where you can soak up the cosmopolitan atmosphere of a city that is the jewel of the Gulf.

After a 6-hour direct flight with Emirates Airlines , we landed at Dubai Airport , one of the largest in the world and turned into a true masterpiece of modern engineering, an impressive building with everything one can imagine.

  1. How to move

It is not a city designed to be explored on foot. The best option, in most cases, is to get around by taxi, which is comfortable and cheap and, if not, by subway, fast and cheap on elevated tracks from where you can see the whole city. Or you can rent a car if you are with family, however for a Business tour, you can rent luxury car Dubai.

What caught my attention the most was the bus stops that look like something out of a futuristic movie. They are covered and closed and when you cross the automatic door, a presence detector starts the air conditioning and a little light comes on outside that alerts the driver of your presence when it is night.

  1. Where to stay

We decided to stay at the Marina View Hotel , located in the Marina Dubai area, a bit far from the center but it is the newest and liveliest in the city, with numerous skyscrapers that form residential towers, shopping centers and luxurious hotels around an artificial canal with its small port, bars and restaurants.

  1. Their beaches

One of the great claims of Dubai are its beaches, that's why we decided to take the morning to enjoy one of them near our hotel, where the best hotels in the city are located and therefore, the best beaches. We were impressed to see the outline of buildings that rose up behind us.

Open Beach : One of the most popular beaches in Dubai and better known as Russian Beach for being full of Russians. It is located near the center on Jumeirah Avenue .

Jumeirah Beach Park : also located near the center and a few meters from Jumeirah Avenue .

Umm Suqeim Beach :  This beach offers the best views of the iconic Burj Al Arab , making it one of the most popular beaches in Dubai.

Palm Island Dubai

Billed as the eighth wonder of the world, it can be seen from space along with another important landmark, the Great Wall of China. Jumeirah Palm , is one of the three islands that extend in the Persian Gulf. And, the good thing about creating an island is that you can do it just as you imagine it: an artificial island turned into a luxury destination due to its size and ingenuity.

Souk Madinat Jumeirah

It was built with the intention of looking like a traditional souk and is housed in a complex with 3 Arabic-style luxury hotels scattered along the canals. The Souk Madinat Jumeirah is undoubtedly attractive for its atmosphere (with more than 40 restaurants), for its narrow streets and for its huge lake, in which the Burj Al Arab is reflected . The contrast of the modern and the old is spectacular
