• If you cancel a flight within the first 24 hours of your flight booking, you can do it free. You can claim a full refund. However, it is applicable on the tickets that you buy at least seven days before the flight departs the airport. 
• When the airline cancels a flight due to bad weather or any other mechanical issues, they will have to provide you booing in their next flight for free. You can also choose to claim a refund on the ticket. 
• For an award ticket, the airline allows free cancellation eight days prior to the departure. 
• Another fee cancellation can be made if you do it at least 60 days before the flight departs. 
• Any refundable, as well as non-refundable booking, can be canceled for free in extreme emergency situations. This includes the death of a family member, jury duty, or serious health issues. However, you will have to present proof of the same to the airline.
