Portable Chiropractic Tables and Techniques Chiropractors Use for Treating Patients

Portable medical facilities have changed over the years. No longer weak, shaky, fragile, or unstable. It has now been designed to be durable, stable, and easy to move around, and Chiropractic tables are not left out. Portable chiropractic tables are an excellent addition for home health care providers, therapists, and chiropractors who may see patients outside their offices. This portable chiropractic table has thick padding, puncture-resistant upholstery, and an easy-to-clean surface. It was designed mainly with patient comfort in mind.

Portable chiropractic tables can be used in different settings and venues. Many models weigh about 32 pounds, making it easy for one person to carry, set up, and take down without help. This is an excellent feature for the chiropractor who goes to his patients. Having these portable tables prevent the need to buy a stationary chiropractic table for every place where you work directly with clients. You also don't need a set space, as you can quickly move between patient rooms or set up in a central location.

One of the most significant investments a chiropractor can make is having a chiropractic table. However, he needs to buy a table that fits his specialty. Here are a few basic techniques often used by chiropractors to treat patients.

  • Atlas orthogonal technique

The Atlas Orthogonal Technique is an upper cervical chiropractic technique created in 1979 by Frederick M. Vogel and Roy W. Sweat. It is a technique that uses a percussion instrument to adjust what is measured from specific X-rays and is found to be a vertebral subluxation. Usually, the treatment is often used for a neck patient.

  • Sacro-occipital technique

This technique is aimed at restoring symmetry to the pelvis and re-aligning the body. It is carried out by stretching the muscles, after which the blocks are explicitly positioned around the pelvis while lying on your front or back and leaving for about 2-10 minutes.

  • Gonstead technique

This technique often involves adjusting the low back or pelvis as the patient lies on his side. Chiropractors use it to bring the joints back into alignment, reduce pain and rigidity, and increase mobility.

  • Flexion distraction

Also known as Cox Technic or decompression manipulation, it's used in over half of all chiropractic clinics. It is a technic used to treat disc herniation, facet joint pain, scoliosis, and other conditions.

  • Flexion Distraction

This technique treats various lumbar-spine conditions, including lower back pain, disc injuries, and sciatica. It aims to increase the overall spinal motion and fix any disc bulges or herniation. A unique table is used for the flexion-distraction technique. This table allows the chiropractor to arrange the location of the patient's spine. Along with the movement of the table, the chiropractor uses manual techniques to remove pressure from the disc.

The most significant benefit of this technique is that it does not cause any pain.

Conclusion

The patient's recovery rate depends on the quality of treatment they get, and the quality of treatment depends on the expertise and equipment used. Malfunctioning equipment can be very degrading to the skills of the practitioner. However, a well-selected table will not only give an edge to the practitioner but also give comfort to the patient. The patients need to be as comfortable as possible as chiropractic treatments sometimes take long hours of exercise. So, be sure to select the right chiropractic table
